Education
Hello. Let me introduce myself. I have a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Nijmegen in The Netherlands. I have worked and studied at the University of Paris Pierre et Marie Curie. I spend a while doing research at my University in Holland until I discovered that I liked teaching better than doing research.
Experience
I have always tutored a lot when I was a math major student at the University of Nijmegen. I currently am a math instructor at a major college, so I teach students in class, as well as on a one-to-one basis. Some of the courses I teach are statistics, trigonometry, business calculus, college algebra, geometry, quantitative reasoning and intermediate algebra. I love the challenge of explaining math to students in an easy to understand manner that helps them to accomplish their goals. It has been my experience that anyone can understand math if explained properly and clearly. The student-centered teaching methods I use in class are very useful for tutoring because of their interactive nature. I focus my students attention on the material by continuously asking questions as I explain the math, so that the student becomes an active participant as opposed to a passive learner. In my class I use a very interactive teaching style that makes the student a more engaged learner. There is nothing more boring than just listening to the teacher. Tutoring is the ultimate one-on-one interaction that usually brings the best results. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student begin to understand a topic that he has been struggling with. Set up an appointment with me today and let me help you to overcome those math struggles .
